In plain English
IQVIA is the data-and-trials backbone of the drug industry. It runs clinical trials for pharma as the world's largest contract research organization (the old Quintiles), and it owns the largest commercial dataset in healthcare — what doctors prescribe, what patients are paid for — from the old IMS Health. The two merged in 2016, so IQVIA can both run a drug's trial and tell its maker how to sell it, increasingly through NVIDIA-powered AI agents.
In simple terms
Where IQVIA sits
IQVIA is the middle of the drug chain made into a business: it runs the clinical trials that generate the evidence (its CRO), and it owns the data that tells drugmakers how to sell what gets approved (its IMS-rooted analytics). Increasingly it wraps both in NVIDIA-powered AI agents.
