Micron is the only US-based maker of memory chips — DRAM, NAND flash and HBM — and, unlike the fabless logic designers, it owns and runs its own fabs end-to-end. It is racing SK Hynix and Samsung to supply the high-bandwidth memory every AI accelerator depends on.
Micron owns its fabs
Unlike the fabless logic designers (NVIDIA, AMD, Broadcom) who outsource manufacturing to TSMC, Micron buys the same ASML, Applied Materials, Lam, KLA and Tokyo Electron equipment to run its OWN fabs. The manufacturing stage is the hub here, not a supplier.
